Please read carefully : New Zealand Adventure Specialists Limited
(hereinafter referred to as NZAS), accepts tour bookings subject to the following
terms and conditions:
Deposits & Trip Balance
To secure a tour reservation, NZAS or their agent requires a trip
completed reservation form, signed by the client or the parent
or legal guardian if the client is under 18 years, with the necessary
deposit or full payment if travel is within 40 days. A reservation
is accepted and becomes definite from the date NZAS has confirmed
acceptance in writing. The person signing the booking form (which
in all cases incorporates these terms and conditions - unless other
wise specified) warrants they have full authority to do so on behalf
of all the persons whose names appear thereon or separately in
relation to the group, and confirms that all persons are fully
aware of and accept these conditions. NZAS or our agents reserve
the right to decline any reservation at their discretion. The
deposit per person is 50% of the tour price. Deposits are to
be made in New Zealand dollars can be paid by direct bank transfer
or credit card (Visa / MasterCard). The balance of the trip cost
is due 40 days prior to departure and may be paid in New Zealand
dollars by direct bank transfer; or by credit card (Visa / MasterCard).
If final payment is not received when due, NZAS reserves the right
to treat the reservation as cancelled. All prices include New Zealand
Goods and Services Tax of 15% Payments can be made via our reservation
and booking forms or we can post, e-mail or fax you
a copy.

Price Guarantee
Prices quoted are per person and are guaranteed, regardless of
fluctuations in foreign currency from the period 41 days prior
to the trip starting.
Price
All prices are expressed in New Zealand Dollars.
Trip Planner
Shortly after your reservation has been accepted, you will receive
a travel planner that includes a descriptive itinerary and information
about arrival and departure, suggestions for pre- and post-trip
accommodation, public transportation, clothing and gear. One month
before departure final rendezvous instructions and final trip details
will be sent.
Amendments and Modifications to Travel Arrangements
Transferring the booking of the package trip from one departure
date to another is possible without incurring a cancellation fee
provided the transfer is made no less than 60 days prior to the
commencement date of the original travel date.
Cancellations & Refunds
The balance of the trip cost is due 40 days prior to departure
If you must cancel your reservation, your cancellation fee will
be determined according to the following formula:

41+ days : Minimum deposit non refundable
31-40 days :50% of trip price
21-30 days :35% of trip price
11-20 days :15% of trip price
0-10 days : No Refund
Exceptions to this policy cannot be made for any reason, including
weather or personal emergencies. There is no refund for arriving
late or leaving a trip early. NZAS reserves the right to make route
and accommodation modifications as needed.
Cancelled Tours
On the rare occasions when NZAS must cancel a trip, all payments
to date will be refunded. NZAS reserves the right to cancel any
tour if there are insufficient confirmed bookings for any given
tour to operate.
NZAS is not responsible or liable for expenses incurred in preparation
for any cancelled trip.
Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that you purchase a comprehensive travel
insurance policy covering trip cancellation for medical reasons;
trip delay; medical expenses; accidental death; lost baggage; and
medical evacuation.
New Zealand Law
The Law of New Zealand will be applied to contracts and disputes;
and shall be resolved within the New Zealand Courtâs.
Liability
Clients will be required to sign a Liability release form before
commencing any tour or activity.
Passports & Visas
Everyone needs a passport to enter NEW ZEALAND. Your passport
must be valid for at least three months beyond your intended stay.
Citizens of the USA do not need a Visa. For residents of other
countries please check with your travel agent to confirm if a visa
is required. No vaccinations are required for entry to New Zealand.
Arrival & Departure
Each trip begins and ends in or near a town accessible by plane,
train or bus, as noted in individual trip descriptions. Optional
van or coach transfers are available from some locations to the
meeting place and back at trips end; for which advanced reservations
are required. Specific details about starting and ending times,
van transfer locations and transportation options for one-way trips
are included in your specific trip travel planner. If you wish
to make airline reservations before receiving your Travel Planner,
please contact NZAS or your Travel Consultant for trip starting
and ending times.
Travel Arrangements
For assistance in arranging international air transportation contact
your local travel agency for the best deal or Air
New Zealand Limited . From the USA fly Air New Zealand
direct from Los Angeles, Vancouver or Toronto.
Accommodations
Inns: International Youth Hostel Association or similar
backpacker style accommodation is normally our preferred option.
Standard accommodations are double occupancy or bunkroom accommodation.
Requests for single accommodation are confirmed at the time of
reservation for which you are required to pay a Single Supplement
Fee - however some overnight stays may not provide or be unable
to provide for your single accommodation. If you request a roommate,
we can usually pair you with one of the same gender. Children under
18 must share a room with an adult family member, adult family
friend or legal guardian. Sleeping Bags are to be supplied by the
client.
Wilderness Camping: Two person tents intended for double
occupancy and closed foam Sleeping Mats are provided free of charge.
Single tents are available for a hire charge of NZ$90. Sleeping
Bags are to be supplied by the client.
Minors
All minors (under 18 years) must be accompanied by at least one
parent or legal guardian. The minimum allowable age for most trips
is 13 years. However some trips may exclude minors or exclude them
from certain trip activities due to safety concerns.
Client Responsibility
Clients are responsible for: choosing a trip that suits their
abilities, level of fitness and state of health; providing NZAS
with signed release and medical information forms prior to trip
departure; arriving at the trip start with clothing and gear recommended
in the Trip Planner; respecting the laws and customs of countries
visited; following environmental guidelines and regulations while
on the trip in accordance with the trip leaders directions; and
respecting the rights and privacy of other trip members. NZAS reserves
the right to refuse service to anyone at any time prior to or during
the trip, if in NZAS opinion, an individualâs behavior or physical
condition are not compatible with the general enjoyment and well-being
of other trip members. In the event of ill health NZAS may make
any arrangements as it sees fit and recover such costs from the
client.
Disclosure of Risks
Adventure activities have an element of risk, and all clients
need to realize there is no absolute guarantee of safety. If you
feel unsure about any particular adventure activity consult our
trip leader who may be able to offer an alternative option. NZAS
reserves the right not to run any activity(s) if in our opinion
the circumstances make the activity too dangerous (e.g. flooded
rivers).
Conditions
NZAS as operator or agent finalizes all arrangements for these
tours on the express condition that it shall not be held liable
for any injury, loss, accident, delay or irregularity which may
occur either by reason of any defect in any vehicle, vessel or
equipment or by Acts of god or through the acts of default of any
company or person engaged in conveying the passengers or in carrying
out our arrangements of the tours or otherwise in connection herewith.
NZAS reserves the right to change any of the facilities, service
or prices described in any of its publications, including any Internet
site. NZAS accepts no liability for any action or activity undertaken
by the client arranged independently of NZAS. NZAS shall not be
liable to compensate clients for associated expenses incurred as
a result of their booking. NZAS accepts no liability for any individual
or group failing to meet NZ Passport / Visa entry requirements.
No refund will be made for any unused services included in the
price.
