HIRE EQUIPMENTThe following outlets in Christchurch City, New Zealand have alpine climbing, ski equipment for hire:

LOCATIONAll courses (excluding the Advanced Emergency Medical Care) are conducted at Temple Basin Ski Area located within Arthurs Pass National Park, 4km west of Arthurs Pass Village. Temple Basin is situated right on the Main Divide of the Southern Alps.
ACCOMMODATION and MEALSAll course fees (excluding the Advanced Emergency Medical Care Course) include accommodation and meals at Temple Basin. The accommodation at the Temple Basin Lodges is Bunk Room only. Sleeping Bags are required. NOTE: Dinner is not provided for on the arrival night; for courses that commence after the evening meal. Dinner on the arrival night is an additional cost (if required).
GETTING THERE
THE GOODS LIFTThe Temple Basin Goods Lift will transport your gear up the mountain. There is no charge for this service. The baggage lift is located 300m west of the Temple Basin car park along State Highway 73 (towards the West Coast). Other times for using the lift can be arranged by calling the goods lift office on (03) 377-7788.

TAXI TRANSPORT from Arthurs Pass to Temple BasinArthurs Pass Taxis Service: Taxis transport is available either from the Arthurs Pass Railway Station or Arthurs Pass Village Backpackers to the Temple Basin Car Park; the start of the Temple Basin Access Track. Phone Bob the taxi owner on either: COST: NZ$15.00 each way; for up to 5-passengers, (subject to rate variations and price changes).
CANCELLATIONS for NZ Snow Safety Institute CoursesAll cancellations of New Zealand Snow Safety Institute course bookings must be in writing. A 30% cancellation fee will be levied up to one month before the course commences. A 60% fee up to two weeks prior, and thereafter a 100% fee will be levied.
